The Top 10 Classic Fears in Literature

I found this interesting article on the idea of universal fear. There certainly seem to be certain things that appear across numerous different cultures and over huge time periods.

For example, wolves appear as dangers in Russian, Japanese and European fairy tales and even though there is a historical basis to explain such fear, do these re-occurrences have deeper meaning? Wolves could also be representations of a universal fear. Aren’t we all afraid of predators, whether they want to eat us alive metaphorically or literally?

Hope you enjoy.
